Adding the above-bed rail kit is going to give you the option to choose from many different fifth wheel hitches.This rail kit is going to be a more permanent installation, which means that your rails are going to bolt to the inside of the bed and they're going to stay installed even when your hitch is removed. That being said, they're not going to stick up very far, only about an inch, so they're really not taking up a whole lot of space. So it's going to give us plenty of room if we're wanting to put plywood or drywall in.Each rail is going to have three different slots for the feet on the fifth wheel. more

We're not going to have any rails or anything like that in the way. Now essentially our F-350's bed is going to have a template, if you will, for our kit.There are spots in the bed that are flat for where our pucks are going to sit. Today you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to help you install the Reece Quick Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit with Base Rails for 5th Wheel Hitches on our 2018 Ram 2500.This is going to be an above bed rail kit and what it's designed to do is to not only allow you to easily place your rail mounted 5th wheel hitches in the bed of your truck but also remove them to give you total bed access.These rails are not only going to be compatible with Reece 5th wheel hitches but they're also compatible with DrawTite, Curt, Hidden Hitch, Husky, and Valley 5th wheel hitches.You'll notice the slots here on the top and then the holes here on the sides. These are to accommodate different size 5th wheel hitch feet. And these holes are for your pin and clips to hold your hitch down in place. Now, these rails will also accommodate 16,000 pound hitches, 20,000 pound and 25,000 pound hitches.Each rail is going to be a black powder coated steel so it's going to resist any rust or corrosion. Today on our 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty you're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Draw-Tite Custom Underbed Installation Kit for high rise fifth wheel trailer hitch.This is what our hitch is gonna look like when it's installed. What this is good for, is it's gonna give us total bed access. We're gonna have a 30,000 pound gross trailer weight, which is the trailer plus load included, and a 7,500 vertical load limit. I do recommend checking the owner's manual of your vehicle to make sure your vehicle can withstand that amount of weight. You're gonna go with the lowest number between the vehicle and the hitch.Our center section, our cross members that are gonna spread from frame rail to from rail, and our frame brackets are all gonna have nice powder coat finish, that's gonna resist any rust or corrosion. Let's start with our frame brackets, they're gonna mount to the outside of our frame rails, and they're gonna use existing holes already in the frame. more

Our rails are going to have a power coat finish, deep carbide black, so it's its going to hide those scratches and dirt really well, but it's also going to prevent any kind of rust or corrosion from happening on the rails. Whenever we're not towing, we can pull our fifth wheel hitch out and we can use the bed and have full bed access. Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 we're going to be taking a look at, and I'll show you how to install the custom underbed installation kit for Demco Recon 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch.It's going to be a complete underbed system. The only thing we're going to have in the bed of the truck is our safety chain loop. The ring, as you can see, safety chain loops are in a lower corrugation. And our ring sits flush with our raised corrugation. This is going to give us total bed access.We're going to have a frame bracket on each side that's going to attach to the frame. Our cross braces are going to attach to the frame bracket to secure our hitch into place. more

Today on this 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to review and install the Underbed Rail Installation Kit for a Demco Hijacker UMS fifth wheel and gooseneck trailer hitches, part number DM8551010.This is what the rails look like when they're installed under the truck. You can see we got the two cross rails going from left to right, and they sit on the frame below the bed. Let's check out on the bed of a truck, and we have our hitch already in place. It's kind of integral for installation by the way, but we take a look down here. All we have is four holes drilled in the bed, two inch diameter holes, very easy to do, and your hitch sits right in there. The big plus about this setup is, is that when you take your hitch out, you have full access to your bed.Now these base rails will fit a variety of Demco products, including all the auto slide pitches they offer. more

Today on this 2013 Ram 2500, we're going to review and install the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard installation kit with base rails, part number RP56011-53. This is what the rails look like when they're installed in the bed of a truck. As you can see, they're a little bit taller and bigger compared to a traditional fifth wheel rails you're used to seeing, but that's a good thing because fifth wheel rails aren't really rated, but these rails are. In fact, it's actually marked on the rail itself according to the slots. These guys are going to be quite a bit longer compared to the original style that you're used to as well. This goes almost all the way to the edge of the fender well, and it makes it a little bit easier underneath the vehicle to install them with the customer fit brackets that go onto the side of the frame. more

Husky Custom Base Rail Kit Installation - 2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty- Video
Speaker 1: Today, on this 2006 Ford F350 Super Duty, we're going to review and install a Husky custom base rail and installation kit, part number HQ31407-686.Now, a rail kit can be used with a variety of different fifth-wheel hitches out there, such as this Demco product, here. Also work with with Draw-Tite, Reese, Husky, and other brands that are out there. You can see that it's a very conventional setup, got the same two rails as you used to with all the other fifth-wheel rail kits that are out there.Now, this kit is unique that it uses a four-bolt system, instead of the conventional ten-bolt system you see on a lot of other rail kits that are out there.Now, rails do sit as flush as possible to the truck, and still allows you to have full-bed access. However, when you load your truck up, you may have to consider the rails themselves, and also the bolt heads sticking up.All right, we seen what's on top of the bed, let's go beneath the truck, and take a look how the other of the kit is this nice one-piece unit right here, that attaches to the frame of truck, and uses existing bolt holes in the frame. So the only real drilling you have to do is go through the bed of the truck, see, and that's pretty easy, compared to drilling through the frame.One cool little detail about our hitch is actually part of fastening itself. This nut right here clamps into place onto the frame bracket, and makes it real easy to help us tighten down, thread the bolt, get it started and tighten it down. more

If your Ford doesn't have the factory prep package in it, this is going to be a great way to get a fifth wheel in the bed of your truck. With Ford moving to aluminum truck beds, having two dissimilar metals can cause corrosion. more

This is where everything's going to be located. That's the key highlight of this system, it's under bed system. So we still have complete and full truck bed access. Now it is also available in a gloss finish using part number C16411-104.Now the whole point of our base rails is so that we can mount a fifth whee hitch in our truck and safely tow either a fifth wheel or a gooseneck down the road. The rails are going to have several different mounting locations in there and they're going to accept industry standard fifth wheel hitches or gooseneck adapters. And the nice thing about our rails is when we're not towing, we can pull our fifth wheel out and our rails are only going to stick up from our bed about an inch and a half.Now our rails do come with a custom installation kit, which is going to cut down on the installation time making it a little bit easier and also reduce the amount of drilling that we're going to have to do. We are going to have to drill five holes per rail in order to get them installed. Those rails in the bed are going to attach to our frame brackets here. more

However, I do recommend checking your owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can withstand whichever amount of weight you are pulling.Now, these rails are going to be about 1 7/8" off the bed and as you can see, they take up, from side to side, most of the center of your bed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're gonna be installing Reese's custom base rails for fifth wheel trailer hitches, part number RP50066-58.These custom designed base rails are gonna allow you to get your fifth wheel hitch installed in your Chevy Silverado with minimal drilling and effort. Included in the kit, you're going to get two base rails for the legs of your hitch, and two side brackets that'll go underneath and attach to your frame, keeping it nice and secure.The side brackets attached to the frame rails using pre-existing holes so there's no drilling into the frame required, and the base rails will be function with most manufacturers fifth wheel heads, so it'll be ready to bolt right up and ready to use once you got it installed.The way these base rails are designed, the pins that hold your fifth wheel in, you can take your fifth wheel out, so will base rails remain in place and the base rails only sit about an inch on top of your bed, so you'll have mostly full bed access once you get your fifth wheel out of there.This kit comes with all the hardware you need to get it installed. It does require some minimal drilling, I'll show you how to do that now.We'll begin our installation by measuring out the first rail closes to the tailgate. You wanna center it in the middle between each side of your truck bed, and then you'll measure from the rear of the truck bed between your tailgate opening and the actual truck bed itself down towards your rail. There are multiple measurements depending on the length of your truck bed, refer to your instructions and set it at the appropriate distance from here to your rail.You'll then mark the hole one in on each side and the center hole towards the cab. You can use a center punch for this, if you've got a spray in bed liner, you can use a paint stick, and then what I like to do before I take it off if I do have spray in bed liner is to just take a drill bit and just mark that a little bit more. more

Here's what our fifth wheel rails look like installed. These rails will allow you to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a standard fifth wheel hitch or a sliding fifth wheel hitch. What's great about these rails is that are industry standard rails, so you'll be able to accept most, if not all fifth wheel hitches and sliders with these. Now a lot of our customers with newer trucks that our purchasing a brand new truck to tow a brand new fifth wheel trailer, they like to go with an under bed solution, because that maintains full truck bed access, but with these if you are upgrading your tow vehicle and you already have a standard fifth wheel hitch that goes in the rails, you'll still be able to reuse your old fifth wheel hitch to tow your trailer.Now when you're not towing your fifth wheel trailer, you can easily remove your fifth wheel head and these rails only will stick up above the bed of your truck by about an inch and a half.
